Basic Cookie Recipe From Lois Uhl 1 1/4 Cup All Purpose Flour 1/2 Tsp. Baking Powder 1 Tsp. Vanilla 1 Egg 1 1/4 Cup Butter 1/4 Cup Brown Sugar 1/2 Cup Sugar 1/2 Tsp. Salt Combine Flour, Baking Powder, 1/2 Tsp Salt, Set Aside beat butter for 30 seconds, then add butter. beat until fluffy. add egg and vanilla. add dry ingredients Bake at 375 * 8-10 minutes 3 Variations : add to above ingredients 1. LEMON YOGURT cookies : Stir in 1/2 cup lemon yogurt and 1/2 cup toasted slivered almonds When cool frost with lemon frosting made from 2 cups powered sugar and 1/4 cup lemon yogurt 2. Pineapple-coconut cookies: Stir in to above dry ingredients 1/4 tsp ginger, 1 cup flake coconut, 1/2 cup well drained pineapple and 1/2 cup of chopped nuts( your choice) 3. Spicy Oatmeal: Reduce flour to 1 cup and add 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp. nutmeg, Add 2 Tablespoons milk to beaten mixture. Stir in 1 cup quick cooking rolled oats , 1/2 cup raisins ( golden or regular) and 1/2 cup chopped nuts ( your choice).
